Betting on the Super Bowl is as American as apple pie, baseball, hot dogs, Chevrolet, and, well, sports betting.  Last year’s Super Bowl was the most legally bet on Super Bowl in history, with 26 million Americans placing a wager, valued at $6.8 billion.  Wanna be one of the winners?  Follow this short guide to make sure you win!

Timm’s Tip #1:  The AFC loves ex-Cowboys!  The American Football Conference is 3-0 in the last 3 Super Bowls with former Cowboys in the broadcast booth.  Super Bowls 51 and 54 with Troy Aikman and Super Bowl 53 (Tony Romo).  Romo will be in the booth alongside Jim Nance for CBS this February.

Timm’s Tip #2:  The AFC loves the fresh air!  The AFC is 8-3 in the last 11 Super Bowls played outdoors.  Super Bowl LV will be played in Tampa, an outdoor facility.

Timm’s Tip #3:  The AFC loves flexing its muscles.  The AFC has won 6 of the last 8 Super Bowls.  The Eagles and Seahawks (Maybe it’s a bird thing.  Sorry Falcons) are the 2 NFC winners in that span.

Timm’s Tip #4:  Don’t bet on a dog.  The favored team is 7-3 in the last 11 Super. Bowls.  Yes, 11, since 49 (Seahawks v Patriots) was a pick ‘em.

Timm’s Tip #5:  The AFC loves the short month.  The AFC is 12-6 when the Super Bowl is played in February.  Since Super Bowl 36 the title game has been played in February every year except one.  Super Bowl 55 will be played on February 7, 2021.

Timm’s Tip #6:  Fun in the sun!  The AFC is 11-5 in Super Bowls played in Florida.  Super Bowl LV will be played in Tampa, FL.  You have to go all the way back to 1995 and Super Bowl 29 (49ers over the Chargers) to find an NFC team winning the big game in Florida.

Timm’s Tip #7:  Familiar home whites!  Teams wearing white have won 13 of the last 16 Super Bowls.  The only 3 teams to win in their team-colored jerseys were last year’s Chiefs, Super Bowl 52’s Eagles, and Super Bowl 45’s Packers.

Use this simple guide accordingly and you just might get your share of that $6.8 billion back come Monday, February 8!  Spend it wisely!
